Mountain Bike Hire in Linlithgow

Kingsfield Events at Kingsfield GC have just taken on 4 Mountain Bikes, as part of the soon to be launched Scotland’s Heartland Tourism Project, at Kingsfield Golf Centre, Linlithgow.

The new Chairperson of Visit Scotland and Tourism Minister Jim Mather will be Launching the project at Kingsfield GC on Thursday 8th July.

Interesting weekend since the bikes arrived on Thursday 24th June 2010 .
First, I rode a bike for the first time in 35 + years…….no real ill effects but have to understand the gears better!!
Took photos during by ‘virgin trip’ of the surrounding area – see attached- and promoted the bikes at our Monthly Farmers Market at Linlithgow Cross.
Found out loads of bike safe pathways that I was not aware of before and talked to loads of people who were really surprised - actually laughing - at ME being on a bike.
Sunday brought the very first BIKE Show at the near by Springfield School…organised through Linlithgow….the local Climate Change group.
Excellent collection of cyclists young and old, police bikers, local retailers, repair guys, assault course, Council Transportation group, SPOKES, and fitness groups………timing could not have been better.
I displayed our Bike Hire posters (see attached) at both events and have sent out over 100 emails to B&B’s, Hotels, Visitor Info Centre, Visit Scotland etc etc…good feedback from accommodation providers.
Met with local Councillors and they are keen to assist us in our new venture as is SPOKES…..and the Council Transportation Department?
Have agreed a DISCOUNT opportunity with Climate Change people to promote our ‘working together’ – this being…anybody who cycles to KGC will get ½ PRICE Putting on the Ochils FAMILY Putting Green………£1.25 instead of £2.50. You could possibly advise your colleagues of this offer and note that
the Tee Caddie Coffee Shop and Toilets are also available for Bike customers at KGC. We are located just ½ mile from the Union Canal at Bridge 41 – Park Farm.
NO HIRES SO FAR …….is the answer but a hell of a lot of good PR undertaken.
Our friend at OUTDOOR TRAX at Auchinstarry (on the Forth and Clyde Canal) will be advertising our Kingsfield Hire Business and I wondered if you guys could do the same
at the Hotels, Falkirk Wheel, LUCS and anywhere else that is relevant.
I believe that OUTDOORTRAX will soon open for business at Falkirk Wheel, and we are keen try Hire and Ride facilities ….ie Hire at OUTDOOR TRAX outlets and drop at Kingsfield and vice versa?
